Services

Working with Veterans and War Widows through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs:

Working as a contractor to DVA, Michelle provides a fully mobile service of home visits to Veterans and War Widows of all ages, Michelle also offers services from the ABCOT office. Both Gold and White Cards holders are eligible for the service.

A GP referral is required to access ABCOT services.  Please enquire further if you require assistance with this process.

As part of the home assessment process, Michelle will determine what assistive equipment or home modifications you may require.  Michelle can apply for major home modifications if the Veteran is eligible also.

The OT may also provide education and training on energy conservation for chronic disease management or modifying activities to allow you to remain as independent as possible in those chosen activities.

The assessment process is holistic and your OT will identify if referrals are required for support services through My Aged Care and Veterans Home Care.

Your OT will address your mental health needs through support, counselling and a continuity of care through visits as needed.

ABCOT is committed to collaboration with your GP to ensure referrals are made to other Health Professionals such as Exercise Physiologists, Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, so all of your health needs are attended to.
